New Rotary Music Garden Coming to Charter Oak Park
The Rotary Club of Manchester has joined with the Town of Manchester to develop a “Rotary Music Garden”, as part of the overall redesign of Charter Oak Park. A planned re-opening of the park is slated for the summer of 2017, and site preparation has already begun.
The Rotary Music garden will feature 9, full-sized, all-weather musical instruments. These instruments were produced by Freenotes Harmony Park, out of Durango, CO. The garden will be laid out in a park-like setting, featuring walking paths, a central patio, and various benches. Children, teenagers, and their families, will enjoy community programming, in a place where they can express themselves musically.
You can see the design below.
The Music Garden Project is being funded by the Rotary Club of Manchester through sponsorship of individual instruments and benches. A fundraising gala will be held at Cheney Hall on Saturday, May 6th, 2017. There will also be an engraved brick sale. These custom bricks will surround the central patio area. These 8” bricks can be engraved with up to 6 lines, 18 characters per line, and are guaranteed for life.
