Tires International is a certified emissions inspection center and emissions testing facility. The state of Connecticut requires vehicle emissions testing every two years for most vehicles. Testing is also required with original registration or the purchase of a used vehicle.

When the time draws near for your emissions test, a renewal notice will be sent indicating if and when a test must be completed. If you buy a used vehicle, a renewal reminder won't be sent; instead, it's your responsibility to ensure your vehicle is tested within 30 days.

Does My Vehicle Need an Emissions Test?

Most vehicles need to be tested every two years. Your vehicle requires an emissions test if:

• It is between 4 and 25 years of age
• It is a hybrid electric vehicle
• It runs on gas, diesel, or propane
• It has a vehicle weight rating up to 10,000 pounds

When it nears time for your vehicle emissions testing, you'll receive notice. Connecticut emissions testing due dates are determined by state and federal requirements. You'll be notified via postcard within 45 days of your vehicle’s due date.
